Where will Ricciardo drive in 2019?

Our favourite smiling Aussie, Daniel Ricciardo, has done everything but openly come out and say he’s shopping around for a championship team for the 2019 season. He’s contracted with Red Bull Racing: Formula One Team through 2018 (but as we’ve seen, it’s always possible to get out of a contract).

Daniel has flirted with the idea of driving for Mercedes in an ESPN article, saying:

Obviously I had the chance with Seb, I’ve had it with Max and I’m going to have it again with Max for at least one more year. But while Lewis is in his prime I would like to challenge [him] and see…

When asked in the press conference today about Ricciardo as a teammate, Sebastian Vettel said “I don’t mind.”

In another interview with Lewis Hamilton, he says racing against Ricciardo would be a “privilege” including a dig about how he needs to beat his own teammate in Max Verstappen first. He says he’s raced against the best being Fernando Alonso and would be willing to take on anyone given they brought positivity to the team – also taking a dig at Nico Rosberg there…

Where am I headed with this?

-Ricciardo hints at shopping teams
-Mercedes being asked about Ricciardo
-Ferrari being asked about Ricciardo
-Red Bull Renewing with Max through 2020
-Valtteri Bottas’ contract expires after 2018
-Daniel Ricciardo’s contract expires after 2018

I think we’ll see that by the summer break of 2018 we’ll see which team Daniel Ricciardo continues his Formula 1 career with – and it won’t be Red Bull.
